Board of Directors

David Scrimshaw, President

David  is an active member of the Ottawa arts community, he has played tenor horn with the Maple Leaf brass band, studied improv dance, written and published short stories and humour articles and is a pillar of Propeller Dance. Professionally, he conducts legal research and acts as volunteer duty counsel at Law Help Ontario. David has sat on numerous boards, including that of Amnesty International Canada as president.

Bob Bowes, Vice-president 

Bob is father to a core member of the Propeller Dance Company. He is a retired executive vice-president of the Heritage Canada Foundation and, for many years, worked as a senior program manager in the cultural sector for the Ontario government. He is active in the local arts community, volunteering with Propeller Dance, singing with the choir of the Ottawa Folklore Centre and serving on the City of Ottawa Steering Committee for Cultural Renewal.

Elizabeth MacKinnon, Treasurer 

Elizabeth is a dance artist and co-director of collective (gulp) dance projects,  teaches dance & yoga, and helps to run Movement Arts Ottawa.  She is an active audience member and volunteer for Propeller Dance, and has assisted with numerous creative projects for the organization. As Treasurer she keeps a close and watchful eye on the finances or the organization. Over the past decade she has worked for the federal government in jobs with increasing levels of responsibility. She is presently a senior analyst at Treasury Board Secretariat of Canada.

Robert Chartier, Dancer representative

Rob is an artist with a disability who has been dancing for seven years, training with Propeller since its creation and now part of the Propeller Dance company. Rob keeps an open line of communication between organization participants and the board of directors.
